Get Introduced to Club FM
Club FM Radio is one of the popular radio stations in Kerala, which is loved and followed across the length and breadth of the state. Owned by Mathrubhumi, a leading publisher in Kerala, this station broadcasts a variety of entertainment programs for people of all ages. Club FM presently operates from six locations in Kerala, and one location in the UAE. The locations are Thrissur, Kannur, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Kozhikode, Alappuzha, and Dubai. The frequency in Kochi, Kannur, and Thiruvananthapuram is 94.3, whereas, in the other three cities, this is available at 104.8 MHz.
RGB Broadcasting’s Scope of the Project
Mathrubhumi and RGB Broadcasting has coordinated on several projects over the years. Earlier RGB Broadcasting has worked with Club FM helping them to set up a studio in Kannur. Thus, it had a good understanding of the client requirements. As a key system integrator for Alappuzha and Kannur Club FM, RGB Broadcasting’s scope of work included:
- Setting up a new FM station studio from the scratch at Alappuzha
- Technology upgrade of Kannur FM station
As a part of the project, the RGB Team worked closely with Mathrubhumi team and was involved in project design, procurement, delivery, and operation support . At Alappuzha, the team has been entrusted the task of :
- Setting up new infrastructure such as studio and audio booths
- Transmission control and operations management
- Data network and server management
The duration of Club FM project for Alappuzha was 90 days and it was completed by a team of three dedicated resources including 1 engineer and 2 technicians from the RGB Team. For the Club FM project at Kannur, the project duration was 90 days and it was completed by a team of 3 resources comprising 1 engineer and 2 technicians. Managing the project deadlines and completing it without disturbing the current workflow are two capabilities that make RGB Broadcasting stand out among its competitors. These were ensured during this project, too.
Technology Investments of Club FM
As a part of the installation and revamp, RGB Broadcasting assisted Club FM to make technology-driven decisions. As a part of the project, the following technologies were implemented:

- RCS Automation: It is the leading music scheduling broadcasting and radio automation software. RCS Automation is today used by more than 14500 radio stations, cable companies, TV music channels, and Internet stations across the globe.
- JBL and Genlec Speakers: These speakers are designed for demanding radio applications and they provide clean and accurate sound.
- Electro Voice and AKG Microphones: These microphones stand out due to their brilliant engineered design and finish. They are attractively priced and produce brilliant sound quality.
- Adobe Edit Stations: Adobe editing suite comprises several audio editing tools, which helps radio broadcasters to complete complex audio editing tasks effortlessly.
- Aten KVM: ATEN provides AV/IT management and connectivity solutions. Their product range includes desktop KVM switches, rack KVM switches, and so on, which is widely used by broadcasters.
- Canford and Belden Installation Materials: Canford and Belden cables are widely used for connections by broadcasters because they assure better signal transmission and lower changes of EMI and other technical issues.
